Zero-Trust Continuity for Agentic AI
GRIM is an implemented continuity and authorization architecture built around a specific boundary: persistent state must not acquire or retain operational authority merely because it persists.
The problem
Persistent AI systems increasingly carry information across sessions, tasks, tools, models, agents, interruptions, handoffs, checkpoints, and long-running objectives.
Persistence creates continuity. Persistence does not prove continuing authority.
What proves that previously accepted state still has authority to govern the agent now?
An agent can possess a valid identity. Its current request can satisfy policy. Its tool authorization can be valid. Its persistent memory may originally have entered through a legitimate path. The action can still be governed by state whose authority has expired, been superseded, conflicted with a higher-priority source, crossed contexts, or otherwise ceased to be valid for the current operating condition.
Inherited-State Authority Failure
The failure does not necessarily occur at identity, authentication, or tool authorization. It can exist in the continuity between previously accepted state and present execution.
The architectural distinction
A piece of information may be stored without being trusted. It may be trusted without being authoritative for every context. It may be authoritative without currently being authorized to trigger an action. It may be authorized for consideration without being permitted to activate execution.
Public architectural concerns
- zero-trust continuity
- inherited-state validation
- provenance
- trust boundaries
- authority hierarchy
- authorization separation
- controlled supersession
- conflict isolation
- immutable constraints
- activation control
- fail-closed handoff
- recovery to known valid state
These describe the security boundary without disclosing GRIM's private implementation.
What GRIM does not assume
GRIM does not assume information remains authoritative because it exists, was previously trusted, was previously authorized, resides in memory, survived a restart, came from an approved store, exists in a valid checkpoint, was inherited from another agent, or was previously used successfully.
Current status
GRIM is implemented and actively being taken to market. Technical review, commercial evaluation, licensing, acquisition, and strategic partnership conversations are open.
